The Gelsenkirchen, Germany native won the 2000-01 BallRacing Cup championship and has 162 starts in ESCORS' top-tier division - only three drivers have more. In 2004, Gerhardt made a switch from EuropeStoxx Racing's Pontiacs to drive the No. 5 Starbucks Fords of HESC Motorsports. Gerhardt also qualified for the second annual Chase for the Cup in 2005, crowned with a top-five points finish.
